A Fire Service spokesman said five firefighters removed half an inch of rainwater from a hair salon in Brunswick Mall, off Front Street, around 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

No damage was reported.

Later that same morning, at 9.23 a.m., a sudden downpour swamped the parking lot of the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Middle Road, Southampton.

In a separate incident on Spice Road, Warwick a two-story dwelling was flooded after a water-heater supply pipe burst.

One inch of water collected on both the upper and lower stories.
