from a hair salon and $445 worth of alcohol from a lodge.

Neville Woods, of Cooks Hill Road, Sandys, pleaded guilty to the offences which duty counsel Mr. John Barritt said stemmed from a need for money.

"You can easily guess what the real problem is with respect to the breaking and entering,'' he told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis. "He has been in and out of prison. Clearly he cannot cope without his problem being addressed.'' Police prosecutor Sgt. Wilbert McLean said Woods entered Bang Bang hair studio on Wesley Street in Hamilton on May 9, where he stole $450 from a telephone and the cash register.

He said Woods forced the premises open and removed the telephone from the inner wall of the salon. He then took the cash register from the reception area and smashed it on the ground to get the money out.

Sgt. McLean said the telephone, valued at $100, and the register, valued at $700, were both destroyed as a result of the incident.

Sgt. McLean said on May 7, Woods entered the Civil and Military Lodge on King Street through a broken window, stealing alcohol valued at $445.

As a result of information received, officers attended Woods' residence on May 16 and arrested him.

Sgt. McLean said Woods has a history of dishonesty.

Mr. Francis ordered that Woods be remanded in custody.
