Spurling leads the Atlantic

Best round of the day belonged to Neil Fenton but his 75 still left him well behind boys 15-17 age group leader Ryan Miles. Miles is two shots ahead of Chaka Desilva.

Aaron James pulled away in the boys 13-14 group, firing a 77 to open a seven-shot advantage on Fraser Hunt. In the boys 11-12 division, Jarryd Dillas maintained a three-shot bulge over Steve Bain and Ryan Marshall.

Two girls broke 80, led by Lindsey Sims, who carded a 76 to cut the lead of defending champion Sarah Thomson of Ontario.

Final round takes place today at Belmont.
