Tamell Simons' picture, featured on the cover of the Audobon Society's commemorative magazine.

The work of photographer Tamell Simons has been featured on the front cover of a special edition magazine for the Bermuda Audubon Society.

Society president, Andrew Dobson said that the magazine was created to mark the 50th anniversary of the organisation in Bermuda. Lady Vereker, the Society?s patron, officially launches the 64-page magazine today.

?We have never produced such a lavish colour magazine before, but the society really wanted to publish something special for our 50th year,? Mr. Dobson said.

?Articles have been written by a number of Audubon members and feature not only the development of the society as an important environmental organisation in Bermuda, but also articles on nature reserves and Bermuda?s fauna and flora.

?It is full of colour photos and the front cover features a stunning photo of a longtail (the society?s emblem) by Tamell Simons. The publication will be of considerable interest to all local people, not just Audubon members. It will also be sent to schools as a useful educational resource.?

Copies of the magazine will be on sale in local bookstores for $5.00
