Mother and son plead not guilty
A Pembroke mother and son pleaded not guilty in Magistrates' Court yesterday to charges of possession of a controlled drug and various other drug paraphernalia.
Zara Pace, 45, and Mikre Pace, 21 from Peat Lane, were arrested by Police in Pembroke on October 22 last year.
They were released on $1,000 bail and one surety each and will return to court on May 19 for trial.
They were represented by duty counsel, Peter Farge.
In a separate case, Shernelle Moniz, 21, from Duke of Clarence, St. George's pleaded not guilty to obstructing a Police officer in his duty.
She was released on $1,000 bail and will return to court on April 11 for trial.
School celebrates
Woodlands Playhouse Nursery and Pre-school will be celebrating its 15th anniversary today.
The school, which has about 80 pupils, will be hosting an open house from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and invite the public to visit the school and meet the teachers.
There will also be fun activities for the children, including a jumping castle.
