Mystery death still under investigation
last week died in suspicious circumstances.
Jeff McClatchie was found dead by a friend last Friday in the apartment where he was house sitting.
Concern had grown for him after he failed to turn up for work at the Elbow Beach Hotel, where he was contracted by his employer R F Communications.
He had been last seen on Wednesday, but work colleagues became worried and began to investigate his whereabouts.
He was found dead around 4 p.m. on Friday at the lower apartment in Valley Road, Paget, where he was staying.
Police were called and an investigation was launched by detectives to find out how, why and when Mr. McClatchie, 36, had died.
His mother, Millie, who lives in Ottawa, Ontario, said she last spoke to her son, who had been working in Bermuda for nearly two years, last Monday or Tuesday night.
And she said he seemed fine and in good health.
A Police Spokeswoman said inquiries were continuing.
She said: "The incident is under investigation as a sudden death (i.e. it does not appear to be as a result of natural causes).
"The investigation continues -- the results of which, coupled with the coroner's report, will indicate whether or not there were any suspicious circumstances involved, and whether or not an inquest is required.
