Sandys woman who pleaded guilty to stealing about $900 from her employer.

Nikeisha Paulette Arlene Joell, 26, of Church Valley Lane, admitted stealing the money from Donna Richold of Teeter Tots Nursery.

Mrs. Richold had noticed over a period of time that money was going missing from her office at the nursery.

In order to catch the thief, Mrs. Richold recorded the serial numbers of several $50 notes and marked them with a green pen on March 2.

She then left the money in a clear plastic bag in her purse in her office and later returned to find $300 missing.

Members of staff were informed there had been a robbery and Joell was searched under suspicion of stealing.

She had six $50 notes with green markings and their serial numbers matched those Mrs. Richold had recorded earlier.

Joell was then arrested by Police and taken to Hamilton Police Station where she admitted stealing the money.

She told Police she stole because she was dissatisfied with her wages.

When asked by Mr. Warner yesterday if she had anything to say, Joell responded: "No.'' Mr. Warner told her to make an appointment with Social Services as he would need a social inquiry report to know how to deal with her when the Court reconvened for sentencing on May 17.
