A father last night said he wanted to thank the scores of people who have offered support since a fire engulfed his home - causing thousands of dollars damage - last week.

Single father Andr? Smith said he and his two daughters, Andr?a, 15, and G?nae, three, had been forced to seek refuge elsewhere after the blaze gutted their home in Parsons Road, Pembroke, on Thursday.

The truck driver said he and his youngest child were staying with his mother Debra at her house in Controversial Lane, while his eldest had gone to stay with her mother.
