A story in last Saturday's paper about an accident involving a container truck and a car should have said the truck belonged to D&J Excavating Co., not D&J Construction.

A 75-year-old man sustained minor cuts to his arm after a load of steel decking fell on his car yesterday on Middle Road, Devonshire.

Glass was strewn about the front and back seat of the man's Subaru after the decking shifted off a D&J Construction container truck which rounded a curve near Corkscrew Hill. The truck was travelling west.

The entire right side of the car, as well as the hood, was damaged and the decking marked the road for several yards.

The accident occurred at 10:20 a.m.

"The driver of the car sustained slight injuries, cuts to an arm,'' said Police spokesman Gary Venning.

Police did not release the name of the driver who is not believed to have been taken to hospital.

After the incident, the truck driver, a 37-year-old male, would not comment.

D&J representatives quickly secured the load after a heavy equipment vehicle lifted the decking back onto the truck.

Traffic was interrupted for about one hour.

Police did not say whether or not any charges had been laid but noted the accident is under investigation.
