Police appeal for help over crash
on Thursday morning is still in a critical condition in hospital.
The girl suffered massive internal injuries after a scooter ridden by a 20-year-old Somerset woman was in collision with a truck travelling in the same direction. The crash victim was travelling as a pillion passenger on the cycle when the accident occurred. The cycle rider suffered minor cuts and abrasions after being thrown into the middle of the road.
It is believed the scooter was trying to overtake on Somerset Road and then had to pull in to avoid an oncoming blue car.
Last night a hospital spokeswoman said the teenager was still in a critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Inquiries are continuing and the investigating officer would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the accident -- in particular, the driver of a white van which was following the blue car. Anyone with information should contact P.c. Rashon Douglas at Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
