Sidewalk collapses beneath cement truck

Construction of the new Police station and court building on Court Street came to a halt yesterday afternoon when a cement truck fell partially into the site.
The truck had parked on the Court Street side of the site to pour its load, but as soon as the driver stepped out of the vehicle, the truck's left rear wheel fell, dropping the truck partially into the site. The driver was shaken by the incident, but otherwise alright.
The vehicle's fall was stopped because it landed on an already constructed concrete wall, preventing injury to anyone at the site and serving as an accidental demonstration of the wall's strength.
