Trucker injured in crash

A Devonshire man was injured when his truck was rear-ended by another truck at the junction of Palmetto Road and Parsons Lane on Thursday.

Police said the 54-year-old was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment after suffering neck and back injuries in the crash. The accident happened when the man indicated to turn onto Parsons Lane and stopped.

The truck behind him did not stop in time and crashed into the rear of his vehicle, causing minor damage. The driver of the second truck, a 56-year-old Pembroke man, was not injured but the front of his truck was badly damaged. The Devonshire man's injuries were treated and he was released from hospital the same day.
