Biker hurt in truck collision in Pembroke

A Smith's man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with "suspected internal injuries" after his bike collided with a truck.

According to Police, the vehicles were travelling in opposite directions on Tulo Lane in Pembroke near the junction with St. John's Road shortly before noon on Thursday, when the accident occurred.

Said a spokesperson: "The rider of the cycle, a 54-year-old Smith's parish man, sustained lacerations and bruising to his legs and neck as well as suspected internal injuries.

The male driver of the truck was not injured.

The cycle was extensively damaged while the truck received moderate front-end damage."

Inquiries into the incident are underway.
