Dear Sir,

I would like to respond to comments made by Unity Foundation of Truth minister, Paulette Pipe in the Religion section of July 19, 2003 edition of your newspaper, in which she is quoted as saying: "We believe that Jesus is the way shower."

As someone who claims to follow the teachings of Jesus, I would like to draw her attention to this passage of Scripture found in John's gospel. In John 14:5, Thomas, one of Jesus' disciples, asked him this question, "Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the way?"

Jesus responded in John 14:6 by stating emphatically: "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father, except through Me." As we can see, Jesus did not view himself as merely "the way shower", but as the very way himself unto the Father.

Thank you for allowing me to respond to this misrepresentation of the teachings of Jesus Christ.
