A couple accused of manslaughter following the death of their baby daughter applied for a three month adjournment when they appeared for trial yesterday in the Supreme Court. Dr. Amenemhat Waset Aen-Ra Tamerry, 47 and Maatkai Hatsheput Tamerry, 35, formerly Dr. Clark Godwin and Regina Woods denied killing their daughter A-Mya between May 1, 2000, and March 1, 2001.

Defence lawyer Darrell Clarke, holding for Christine Hoskins, said the reason for the request was because of Mrs. Tamerry's physical and mental capacity and that she was not able to give evidence at this time. Mr. Clarke provided reports from an obstetrician/gynaecologist and from a doctor in the psychological field. Puisne Judge Norma Wade-Miller set the matter down for mention on September 2 for a new trial date.
