In First Division play BAA I and RAA III hooked up in a tight battle which the former eventually won 4-3, but were stretched to the limit by their east end opponents.

The star on the night was BAA's Jimmy Pratt, who shot eight tons and scored a perfect 180 in defeating Gregory Nesbitt.

Not so fortunate was sister side BAA II which suffered a 6-1 mauling at the hands of Flanagans.

The lone other top flight match had Sandys Sports Club defeat BAA III 5-2.

In Second Division play the Squash Club downed Spanish Point Boat Club II 5-2, BAA IV blasted Ocean View 6-1 and Moonglow I downed Spanish Point Boat Club I 5-2.

Finally, action among members of the Third Division saw Sandys Boat Club best Nationals II 4-3, BPSA I hammer War Vets 6-1, Wharf Tavern Beach Club down BAA V 6-1 and St. George's Dinghy and Sports Club oust BPSA II 6-1.

Meanwhile, the following matches were postponed and need to be re-scheduled: First Division: Flanagans II v Nationals I; BAA II v Nationals I; Flanagans I v BAA II; BAA III v RAA; Flanagans I v Nationals I.

Second Division: Vasco I v Moonglow I.

Third Division: BPSA v Wharf Tavern.

Those having problems arranging dates for these matches can call 292-4519 after 5.30 p.m.

POOL POO After two weeks into the new season five teams still remain undefeated in the Bermuda International Pool League -- Swinging Doors I, Vasco I, Hamilton Parish I, Robin Hood I and Vasco III.

The excitement is underway with Docksiders edging past Mariners 188-187 in latest action and Vasco III squeezing by War Veterans 194-193. By contrast some of the most lopsided results saw Vasco I chew up Hamilton Parish II 222-138, Swinging Doors I devastate their second team 223-149 and Hamilton Parish I down Robin Hood II 222-159.

Five players have achieved perfect scores of 50s -- Paul Doidge, Richard Foggo, Manuel Furtado, Brian Walker and Dennis Parsons.

SQUASH SQU With the support of AF Smith, the Bermuda Squash Racquets Association will be staging Bermuda's first ever corporate team knockout squash tournament.

Members of the public are invited to enter teams from their workplace for the event, which will be held from November 17 to 20 at the Devonshire courts.

Teams of three players from local and international businesses and other organisations will compete in a knockout competition. There will be a consolation event for teams eliminated in the first round. Teams will be graded and handicapped.

The entry fee of $45 per team includes court fees, sponsors tee shirt and admission to the presentation buffet. Entry forms are available from the squash club (292-6881) and AF Smith on Church Street, Hamilton (292-1882). The closing date for entries is Monday, November 7.

SOFTBALL SOF The Commercial Softball League would like to remind all players that November 1 will be the start of the 1994-95 winter season.

To get things started on a good note the league has arranged to hold a home run derby this Saturday for both men and women and anyone wishing to compete is invited to show up at Bernard Park.

During the derby there will also be a throwing competition for accuracy and strength. These events are open to individuals as well as teams, including the general public and will get underway at 4 p.m. Players should contact their team managers.

RUGBY RUG A junior rugby game (16 and under) has been added to the opening day schedule of the World Rugby Classic. Anyone interested in playing should contact the following coaches at their schools: Richard Raistrick (Saltus), Harry Patchett (Warwick Academy) and Pat McHugh (Whitney).
