Institute to brief potential bankers
tomorrow at the Mariners Club from noon to 2 p.m.
The event will begin with a panel discussion with representatives from Bermuda's three banks. Peter Roberts of Bermuda Commercial Bank, Graham Brooks of the Bank of Butterfield, Alan Richardson of the Bank of Bermuda and Malcolm Williams from the Bermuda Monetary Authority will be on the panel.
The event is held to brief students and those who want to enter a career in banking and financial services. CIB spokeswoman Lorraine Wheeler said the information day is particularly important this year as several changes have been made to qualification requirements. A new qualification is also being introduced to the career.
The local chapter of the CIB is affiliated with the UK organisation. The CIB holds a 14-week offshore practices and administration course at the Bermuda College as part of the qualification standards the organisation supports.
About 100 to 120 people usually attend the annual information day.
