Andrew Lloyd Webber's hit musical "Evita'', first produced in London in 1978, and on Broadway a year later, will be staged at City Hall this October.
Together with lyricist Tim Rice, Lloyd Webber achieved what many thought was the impossible -- a musical based on the life of actress and fascist political activist, Eva Peron.
Producer Mrs. Marjorie Stanton says that auditions have been scheduled for next month, and is appealing for as many people (especially men!) to take part.
"Evita'' will be directed by Janice Moran, with Tommy Ray as musical director and Coral Waddell responsible for the choreography.
The auditions, which will be held in the hall of Saltus Grammar School, are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, May 19 and 20 from 7.30 to 10 p.m., with the children's audition on Saturday, May 21 at 2.30 p.m.
