Both the landlord and tenants of a North Shore Road, Pembroke, property had the same dream ? to build an ice cream parlour.

And now they have sought planning permission to realise their dream.

Margaret and Victor Richmond want to change the use of Jason?s Barber Shop on at 113 North Shore Road to a small cafe and take-out.

Property owner Vaughn Tannock said Mrs. Richmond?s lasagne helped seal the deal.

?She is a very good cook,? Mr. Tannock said. ?I always had a dream for an ice cream parlour. Although I was just thinking about ice cream and snowballs, she will probably have lasagne and maybe even fast food, or have a set menu for that day.?

The barber shop already has a big, open space, with a bathroom installed, so Mr. Tannock said there will be little trouble in a conversion.
