Elderly man found
waiting for a haircut.
Police were called to Ricky's Barber Shop on Friday evening and found Horace Pearman, of Middle Road, there.
He was apparently waiting to get his hair cut, said a Police spokeswoman.
Mr. Pearman, said to be in his 70's, was reported missing early on Thursday evening.
Police asked the public to keep an eye out for him as his family was concerned for his safety.
After receiving his haircut, Mr. Pearman was taken home where all was said to be in order when Police left.
A 50-year-old Pembroke man has been arrested in connection with an assault on a sleeping man which left the victim with a punctured lung.
A Police spokeswoman reported yesterday that officers went to Canal Road in Pembroke at 12.30 p.m. on Saturday and were told by a 48-year-old Devonshire man that he was attacked while asleep.
The man claimed he was wakened by a man who punched him in the face and then stabbed him in the left side of his torso with a screwdriver and left.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by Police where he was diagnosed with a punctured left lung.
The Pembroke man was arrested and detained at Hamilton Police Station.
A 53-year-old St. George's man reported to Police that his house was broken into on Thursday sometime between 10.30 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Police visited the house on Ballast Point Road where they were told by the victim that a combination safe and its contents were stolen along with various other items.
A 28-year-old St. George's man was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
