Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan officially opens the show in the Ondaatje Wing on Saturday.

"This exhibition represents some of the diamonds of a significant body of work,'' said curator Mr. Graeme Outerbridge who selected 30 black and white images from the Mr. Saunders' work located at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York.

The exhibition was made possible by the sponsorship of a large number of residents and local businesses and is the first photographic exhibition in the year-old Gallery.

Mr. Saunders' widow, Emily, will be on hand for the opening.

The show will run until June 14.
