Man in wheelchair denies prowling

A wheelchair-bound man denied prowling in St. George's when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Javone Edward Henries, 25, of East Lane, St. George's, was charged with prowling on the property of Lennette Warner on August 15, 2003.

He told the court: “Your honour, I wasn't prowling, that girl is crazy.”

Henries was also charged with using offensive language to a Police officer on the same date.

Crown Counsel Oonagh Vaucrosson told the court Henries said to the officer: “You short f***ing bitch. I will f**k you up too. I hate cops, you fat f***er.”

Henries pleaded guilty to the offensive language charge yesterday but Acting Senior Magistrate Carlisle Greaves declined ruling on the charge.

A trial date of March 2 was set for Henries as well as bail of $500.
