Oak's Bluff is a resort town in Martha's Vineyard, a summer destination for many US East Coast elite.
President Obama frequently vacationed with his family in Oak's Bluff. Last summer they were photographed eating at restaurants and enjoying ice cream in the picturesque town.
According to Time magazine, the town has long been the summer home of black luminaries such as civil rights leader the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Harlem Renaissance writer Dorothy West and Congressman Adam Clayton Powell Jr.
The magazine stated Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. went to his home in Oak's Bluff after Police in Cambridge, Massachusetts mistook him for a burglar in his home.
Dr. Gates described the town as "racial heaven" and said Oak's Bluff has a long history of integration and is "one of the oldest, if not the oldest, places in America where African Americans can own beachfront property".
Mrs. Brown's home contains three bedrooms and bathrooms and is approximately 2,234 square ft.
The home was first built in 1992 and property in that area usually sells for $585 per square ft.
