Hot on the heels of IBC's announcement of extended times for courier pickup, Federal Express Corp. yesterday said the company was extending its times.

Federal Express is extending drop off times for packages to 5 p.m. and courier pickup times to 3 p.m. for next day delivery.

Federal Express stated that the extended times were possible through the introduction of a G1 Turboprop dedicated to service Bermuda. The new flight operates five days a week between Bermuda and Boston.

Last week local courier company IBC announced the extension to 5 p.m. the cutoff time for drivers to pick up documents for next day delivery to the US, Canada and the UK. IBC represents UPS.

Customers can drop off documents up until 5 p.m. or call as late as 4.30 to request pickup. The previous pick-up time limit was 3.15 p.m.
