local company First Atlantic Commerce (Bermuda) Ltd. has sold out.

First Atlantic president Greg Vasic said about 200 people attending the conference held September 15 to 17 at the Millennium Conference Centre. The conference is organised by IBC.

The conference features a lot of Bermuda companies and speakers. Mr. Vasic, and PricewaterhouseCoopers international tax partner Stanley Sherwood will co-chair the meetings.

The meeting will be a key first step in promoting Bermuda as an offshore domicile for electronic commerce, especially since the passing of the relevant legislation in Parliament.

Cable & Wireless is launching its global e-commerce network -- which includes Bermuda as one of six hubs -- prior to the event.

First Atlantic is a subsidiary of local computer cable networking company CCS Ltd. Steve Cullimore, Greg Vasic and Don Mackenzie are the principals in CCS.

Mr. Mackenzie and Mr. Vasic are the principal owners of car retailer HWP along with Jonathan Brewin.

First Atlantic is providing segregated accounts for Internet-based companies and the protection of customer data in Bermuda.

The Royal Gazette will be providing full coverage of the conference next week.
