A Good Samaritan has offered financial help to a woman who was slashed in the face in an unprovoked attack.

The donor, who does not wish to be named, came forward after reading of the nightmare ordeal of Rushana Tannock, who was viciously attacked in October.

In an interview with last week, Ms Tannock relived her nightmare ordeal at the hands of a brutal attacker. She said she was thrown from her motorcycle in the assault and was left with deep gashes around her mouth.

She explained that, three months on, she still suffers pain and has been unable to return to work.

And although she does not have any medical bills at the moment, doctors have told her she may have to undergo plastic surgery once her wounds have completely healed.

This week the kind-hearted donor said the incident could have happened to anyone and she believed Ms Tannock was extremely brave for telling her story.

?I was just disgusted that people could do something like this to a person,? she said.

?The general public should be horrified that this has happened especially because this was completely unprovoked. I don?t blame tourists for not wanting to come here. If you picked up the newspaper and saw that type of violence would you want to come here??

?It is very brave of Rushana to go public on this as it is,? she added. Last night Ms Tannock said: ?I?m so grateful that someone would do something like this for me.?
