Works and Engineering Minister Alex Scott was hospitalised for an enlarged prostate, he has revealed.

The Minister spent almost two weeks in King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in May and is still recovering at home.

He told The Royal Gazette last week that the symptoms had been reversed and he was on the mend.

And following advice from doctors, he expects to be on the campaign trail in Constituency 24, Warwick South East, for the last weeks of the election, he said.

"I had an enlarged prostate which led to chronic retention, which had an impact on my kidneys," he said.

"But I am happy to report that all of this has been addressed and the points reversed.

"The only caution the medical doctors gave me was not to race back out. You will feel like you can go back, but until the doctor gives the green light, there will be no problem with recovery unless I race it.

"I would hope that in the last two to three weeks I would be able at least to have a physical presence in the constituency.

"I would like to thank the staff at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. They took extremely good care of me in the surgical ward in the ten days to two weeks I was there. They really were excellent"

Mr. Scott will take on former UBP senator and Telecommunications Minister Bob Richards in the July 24 poll.
