From September 18-20 visiting Canadian artist Jacqueline Carroll will conduct a workshop entitled The Zen of Drawing , the stated aim of which is "to awaken your creative abilities and discover the artist within whilst developing and refining your drawing skills''. According to BACD curator Justine Foster, Bermudians who have attended Ms Carroll's workshops in Canada have returned with glowing reports, and were in fact instrumental in inviting her to the Island. "We are hoping the public will come and experience something new which could change their whole outlook,'' she says.
The workshop is suitable for both beginners and advanced artists, and the cost of the three-part course is $200 for BACD members, and $270 for others.
From September 22-24 the emphasis will be on Portraiture: Soul to Soul when participants will "experience the technical and spiritual components of portraiture''. They will learn "the dynamics of the face, body position, and placement of the subject onto the paper''. The three-part course is suitable for pencil and/or watercolour artists, and the cost is $200 for BACD members, $220 for others.
A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to reserve space on either workshops, and the enrollment deadline is September 6.
