staff member at knifepoint of more than $4,600 when he appeared during the monthly arraignments in Supreme Court.

Lightbourne, 30, of Devon Springs Road, was also charged with wounding restaurant worker, Owen Eugene Trott, with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

The alleged offence took place on December 22, 1995. Lightbourne was bailed and will appear again on August 4, for mention. Lightbourne is represented by lawyer Archie Warner.

In other arraignments: Gregory Ryan Ashby, 37, of Pembroke, pleaded not guilty to importing cannabis between February 14 and February 21, 1997.

He also denied possessing the drug and handling it with intent to supply on February 21.

His trial date will be fixed on August 4. He is represented by lawyer Elizabeth Christopher.

Herculano Arruda 29, of Trews Apartment Paget and Michael Allan Bell, 40, also of Trews Apartment Paget, denied assaulting Charlotte and Joseph Banzer with intent to commit a robbery.

They also denied entering a dwelling house with intent to commit a felony and having their faces masked with a stocking with intent to commit a robbery.

Both men also denied assaulting John Mark Browne occasioning him bodily harm and were remanded in custody.

Mr. Warner appears for Bell while Mark Pettingill appears for Arruda.

Meanwhile, Kenneth Rupert Alexander Robinson denied unlawfully possessing a knife in a public place and assaulting Katherine Leslie and doing her bodily harm.

He also denied depriving her of her liberty on 14 June 1996. He was released on $2,500 bail plus one surety to appear for mention on August 4.

Robinson was represented by lawyer Victoria Pearman.
