Dedicated to Bermuda and its people
July 22, 2013Dear Sir,My husband and I just returned from your beautiful Island where we stayed a week at the Fairmont Southampton. We fell in love with all of Bermuda; the people, places and mood. I wrote this poem to commemorate our trip, which was to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. I hope you enjoy it.“Heaven under the Oleanders”Sense the romance of BermudaSmell its floral notesTaste the tropical lifePastel houses with white roofsPristine pink sandy beachesSparkling azure, sensuous seaRoadside oleanders grow tallCaress rose, pink and white blossomsPerfume hangs over the islandCatacomb of caves under salty seaCoral reefs in kaleidoscope coloursHear waves crash down upon ocean rocksFishing boats speckle the bayWeighing the day’s catch docksideSun reflects in marlin’s shiny finCedars touch bright blue skiesTaste an avocado fresh from treeLavender when sun meets waterHot sunny days with balmy nightsSnapshots stored in mind’s eye — HeavenPAMELA D HIRTEOhio
