Car damaged during fight over woman
A man appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday after damaging a car during a fight over a woman.
Noris Hylton McGhie, 39, of Texas Road, St. David's pleaded guilty to unlawfully damaging Harry Washington's BMW during an argument that took place on November 20.
Crown counsel Shakira Dill told the court that the two men were at the New Testament Church of God on North Shore when they became embroiled in a heated argument over their involvement with the same woman.
Ms Dill told the court that as Mr. Washington attempted to leave in his BMW, McGhie blocked his path and began hitting the car. Mr. Washington then got out of his car and began hitting McGhie with a PVC pipe. McGhie caused $1,270 worth of damage to the car.
In court yesterday, McGhie said: "There is a clear discrepancy of what was written and what happened but I am guilty of damaging the car."

Assault trial of MP's husband delayed
The husband of United Bermuda Party MP Patricia Gordon Pamplin faced yet another delay on Wednesday as he tried to go to trial over an assault charge dating from almost four years ago.
Dennis Pamplin, 54, of Loyal Hill, Devonshire, is charged with assaulting a man on March 10, 2000.
Magistrates' Court heard on Wednesday Mr. Pamplin's lawyer Mark Pettingill was involved in a Supreme Court trial and could not be in court.
The trial was adjourned until June 21.
Magistrate William Francis originally adjourned the matter until May 17, but Mr. Pamplin complained he would be overseas on business.
Mr. Francis said: "If you are living abroad and you want an eminent lawyer to represent you who is very busy in the Supreme Court, you can't be heard making a lot of noise because you want to do business abroad.
"This court and busy lawyers can't bend and twist to suit you."
But Mr. Pamplin said: "I've been coming here every time. Yesterday was the first time I was told what was happening. I come here every time for this hoping it can be ended."
