House of Assembly to debate Club Med lease

The lease for the former Club Med property in St. George's will be discussed in the House of Assembly when MPs return to work later this year.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Transport, Marc Telemaque, said prior to doing so however, the Government and the proposed developers, St. George's Renaissance Consortium, must work out terms of the proposed development, including the lease arrangement.

Renaissance has proposed to create a European-style cultural village that integrates the new hotel or 126 rooms including 25 fractional units and up to 110 low-rise residential units at a cost of $210 million.

The head of the Canadian-based consortium, Wanda Dorosz, was not available for comment.
