Some of the world's leading experts in ocean exploration and research are currently in Bermuda. The team serve as international advisors to the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute (BUEI) and met to help shape the direction of the institution. The annual meetings took place at BUEI on Thursday and yesterday.

The members of the advisory board which attended this year's meetings included:

Edward (Teddy) Tucker, author Peter Benchley, Steven Blasco of Geological Survey of Canada, Eugenie Clark, Ph.D. from the University of Maryland's Department of Zoology; Rafe Parker; sailor Captain William "Bill" Pinkney; Bruce Robison, senior scientist at Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in California; Clyde Roper, zoologist and Curator, Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution; Gregory Stone, Marine Programs, New England Aquarium in Boston and Graham Wallace director of Sub-Tel Ltd., England.
