A teenage motorcyclist is in intensive care after a road crash on Knapton Hill in Smith's.

The 19-year-old man suffered head injuries in the accident at about 11.15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police said details of what happened were unclear but no other vehicles were involved.

The victim was in a stable condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital last night. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash. Call P.c. Stephen Dennie on 295-0011.
