ZBM sports journalist Mike Sharpe will face a Supreme Court trial over charges of causing grievous bodily harm while driving while impaired with drugs or alcohol.

Sharpe, 48, of Bridle Hill, Smiths indicated he was going to plead not guilty at yesterday?s Magistrates? Court session but Prosecutor Juan Wolffe pointed out it was an indictable matter.

Sharpe was not required to enter a plea on the charges, relating to a May 8, 2004 crash on Kindley Field Road, St. George?s.

He was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm to victim James Woods and being over the legal drink/drive limit of 80 milligrammes in 100 millilitres of blood.

Sharpe was granted bail of $1,000 and is due to return for mention in plea court on September 23. He also pleaded not guilty to a charge of riding his moped at 69 kph on Wilkinson Avenue, Hamilton parish on January 16, 2001.
