The companies said AT&T's residential and business customers will be eligible for special offers and discounts on ADT's burglar alarms and security services.

ADT will promote AT&T's long-distance services to ADT's residential customers, its own employees, and employees of some commercial customers.

ADT, based in Hamilton, also is in the automobile auction business.
