A 12-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with a head gash after a car driven by his mother crashed on North Shore Road, Crawl on Saturday afternoon.

Fire fighters from Clearwater Station rushed to render aid. Lt. Dana Lovell said: "There was a four inch cut across his forehead and it was half an inch deep. It was a very, very nasty injury."

The mother was also taken to hospital suffering from chest pains along with her two other children ? a son and a daughter. It is unclear how the accident happened. Lt. Lovell said: "She left the road and Police are now investigating the cause of the accident. No one was killed but it was a pretty spectacular crash."

Three people were taken to hospital after a taxi and car collided on the Bailey's Bay Post office corner of Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish on Sunday lunchtime.

Lt. Lovell said the taxi driver, who is helping Police with their inquiries, was believed to be in the wrong lane.

The passenger in the taxi was suffered back injuries while the driver of a white Toyota car suffered rib pains and his female passenger suffered head injuries. All three were taken to hospital and both vehicles were extensively damaged.

A male bike rider suffered hand and arm injuries when he was in collision with a car in Paget at 11.20 a.m. on Saturday.

And a 20-year-old girl was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after her bike was involved in a crash with a car at Middle Road, Devonshire, at lunchtime on Saturday.

The car suffered leg and chest injuries in the accident, which happened outside the Garden Market.
