The number one seed constantly came out on the better end of long rallies during a match punctuated by fierce groundstrokes from both players.

Way now awaits the winner of today's other semi-final, which pits number two seed Mallory against third ranked Jerome Bradshaw.

In other matches yesterday Donna Bradshaw advanced to the women's final on the tails of a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Laverne Jones; Maria Ezedinma downed Sheila Fraser 6-1, 6-3 and doubles pair Monty Nearon and Stuart Smith eliminated the tandem of David Gerahty and Sean O'Connell 6-2, 6-3.
