Thief admits to crime spree
A thief who went on a crime spree over the summer breaking into a number of social clubs and a grocery store pleaded guilty to the offences yesterday.
Craig Wilhelm Stapff admitted ten counts of breaking and entering between July and September this year.
He was remanded in custody when he appeared at the arraignments session at Supreme Court yesterday and will be sentenced on December 17.
Stapff, 40, of Ridgeway Road, Pembroke, admitted breaking into Bermuda Bridge Club twice in July, stealing alcohol and chocolate bars.
He pleaded guilty to breaking into the A-1 Gourmet store in Paget four times in July, August and September and stealing alcohol and cigarettes.
He also admitted breaking into Bermuda Athletic Association four times in September taking money.
Chief Justice Austin Ward kept Stapff in custody until sentencing when a substance abuse report will be produced.
