Agreement to protect markets
Collective Investment Scheme Supervisors agreed at a meeting in Bermuda to encourage high standards of supervision to maintain adequate protection of markets and users.
The supervisors also agreed to co-operate more with each other in the regulation of collective investment schemes -- a term which refers generally to mutual funds and unit trusts.
Bermuda Monetary Authority general manager Malcolm Williams was re-elected chairman of the group during the meeting which was held Friday.

Warren Cabral, a partner at local law firm Appleby Spurling & Kempe who has recently launched an "Entertainment Group'' to look at new projects in the film industry and investments, will also be part of the panel.
