twice had to come to the rescue.

First, on Saturday evening, an electrical fault in a water heater filled Richardson's Restaurant with smoke.

Sixteen firefighters were called to deal with the incident, which took place in an apartment at the restaurant.

No-one was injured, although the owner, Mr. Ken Trott, and his wife, Olive, were taken to hospital for observation after inhaling smoke.

Then yesterday, at about 8.30 a.m., the fire brigade was again called to the North Shore Road business to help with flooding caused when the water supply to the damaged heater was turned on.
