Two masked men wielding machetes robbed a Devonshire grocery store on Wednesday evening and cut the store owner.

The incident marked the seventh time Belvin's Grocery has been hit by thugs in ten years.

A Police spokesman said the 71-year-old shop owner, William Pearman, told Police that the culprits entered the store wearing masks and demanded money from him at about 8 p.m.. Mr. Pearman said one of the men had a machete and threatened to harm him if he did not comply.

One of the assailants cut one of Mr. Pearman's index fingers. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital to have it treated and was later released.

The thieves got away with $200 in cash.

The thieves are described as being dark skinned and were wearing white ski masks.
