Robbers targeted two residents - one an elderly man - in separate attacks.

Yesterday at 5.15 a.m., a 74-year-old Sandys man was punched in the face as he sat in his car at King's Wharf, Dockyard.

The robber punched the elderly man in the eye after asking him for a cigarette.

He then took his wallet and removed $100 before handing it back to the victim then leaving with another man in a black car. The senior was unable to give a description of the thug, and he declined treatment.

An Italian man living in Bermuda was robbed by two attackers who asked him for a cigarette as he stopped his motorcycle at the lights on Court Street and Victoria Street at 2.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

When the 34-year-old refused to give one of the men a smoke, he was punched on the left eye and had his wrist pinned to the handlebar to prevent him leaving. A second thug approached him from behind, demanded money and took his wallet.

The attackers then ran off towards Court Street, leaving the victim with bruising to his left eye.

The suspects, who are aged 25 to 30, are dark-skinned, slim built, and about 5ft 8ins

They were wearing dark baggy clothing. One had a close haircut and was perhaps bald.
