If I were invisible
a very different experience for anyone, but the day I became invisible, oh, what a shock for me! It all started on an ordinary Tuesday. Nobody, not even I, would have thought that I would become invisible that day. Anyway, my class was on our way to science. We were learning how to mix certain chemicals and getting a certain kind of chemical. I was in a group with my friends, Daliesha and Jermecca. We gathered green and red chemicals together. It was a funny brownish colour. Daliesha and I said at the same time to Jermecca, "I dare you taste it.'' She said: "Only if one of you taste it first.'' I remarked, "I'm daring and dangerous, I'll do it.'' I took a taste of the chemical. It was disgusting, so I made a frown. My friends asked me, "What's wrong? How does it taste?'' I didn't say a thing. I was too disgusted. I felt like spitting it out, but I didn't. I swallowed it, even though I didn't feel like it. Jermecca and Daliesha suddenly asked, "Jean'el, are you there? How did you make yourself disappear?'' I asked, "What do you mean disappear? Did I really disappear?'' They answered, "Yes, you did disappear.'' I hoped it was temporary. Both of them were excited; I was too! We had made an invisibility potion. My friends and I left school because it was 3.30. We went walking around town. We then went to the bus terminal to catch the bus. We were all sleeping over Daliesha's house. That was the last day of school before the summer break. We had planned a party. The next day at about 10.30 Daliesha's mama wanted us to go and get some groceries. When we arrived and were paying for the stuff, I saw a man stealing. I told Jermecca and she told the store owner. The owner went to the man, got the stuff and kicked him out. We went back to Daliesha's house and told her mama the story. She asked "If Jean'el told Jermecca, then where is Jean'el?'' Daliesha answered, "Right next to you. She's invisible.'' Her mama laughed until she saw me hold up Jermecca's bag. Daliesha's neighbour had seen me lift up the bag and told some scientist he made an invisibility potion. The scientist wanted him to show it to them.
So, that night, he snuck into the house and stole our potion. The next morning I went looking for it, but I couldn't find it. I told Daliesha's mother and she called the cops. The police rushed over the house. When we told them the story they laughed and were about to leave, until I hit one of them. After that they got right on the case. A few days later, we saw the picture of the man in the newspaper with his "so called'' own potion. That day we told the police it was him and in a few days he was in prison for theft. Our names and our picture were in the newspaper the next day. Not just for one thing, but two. The making of the potion and for heroism. That was my most exciting week of my entire life, yet.
