Seven new insurers were formed in June, bringing the total for the year to 27, according to the latest figures released by the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).Class 1 insurance company Telluride Insurance Ltd was set up by Marsh IAS Management Services Ltd on June 6, followed by self-managed Class 3 insurer GS Secured Guaranty Company Ltd on June 10.Hardin Assurance Ltd, a Class 1 insurer, was registered by Marsh IAS Management Services (Bermuda) Ltd on June 17, while fellow Class 1 insurance company Energy XXL Insurance Ltd was incorporated by JLT Insurance Management (Bermuda) Ltd on June 21.White Shoals Re Ltd, a self-managed Class 3A re/insurer, was set up on June 23, the same day as special purpose insurer (SPI) Oak Leaf Re Ltd was formed by Horseshoe Management Ltd, and New Point Re IV Ltd, another SPI, was launched by Alterra Agency Ltd a day later on June 24.Aspre Insurance Brokers Ltd was the only broker set up during the month, on June 2, bring to the total number of intermediaries to three.
