Cabbies vow to take legal action

In response to Government passing controversial GPS legislation last night the Bermuda Taxi Association said it will take legal action.
Yesterday, taxi drivers held a lengthy meeting at the Ex-Artillerymen?s Association in Hamilton to discuss the legislation, with between 200 and 300 taxi drivers attending.was barred from attending the meeting but Bermuda Taxi Association president Michael Ray later said a lawyer has been hired to represent the cabbies? interests.
?Legal representation has been taken and he is working diligently on our behalf,? he said.
In the next few days the group?s executive committee will be meeting.
Mr. Ray said the name of the lawyer the association has engaged will be announced at a later date.
