A week after the incident was reported, a man has been arrested for the sexual assault of a 20-year-old Pembroke woman.

Last week the woman told Police that the man, whom she knew, approached her in Pembroke in the early hours of the morning and forced her to go with him on his motorcycle.

The man allegedly took the woman to the Ducking Stool near Blackwatch Pass where he sexually assaulted her.

The 30-year-old man, from Pembroke, who was arrested Tuesday night, remains in police custody and will shortly appear in court to be formally charged.
