Mystery still surrounds a reported shooting incident on Monday afternoon in Somerset.

Police have refused to comment on details of the incident and would not confirm whether any bullet cartridges were found at or near the Royal Naval Field.

Police received reports on Monday at roughly 3 p.m. that gunshots were heard at the field off Somerset Road.

Dozens of officers responded to the report, closing off Somerset Road to passing traffic in order to scour the area for evidence.

Conflicting witnesses reports surrounded the incident on Monday with some claiming Police had found at least one cartridge while others said nothing was found.

A number of eyewitnesses claimed they saw two men on a motorcycle fire a gun towards an alleged drug dealer who was on the field.
