The first visitor told Police that her handbag was snatched as she rode near the Botanical Gardens in Paget around 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday by a man on another cycle.

The orange and pink bag contained a wallet, cash, credit cards, a driver's licence and other personal possessions.

The other visitor said she lost her handbag around 5.15 p.m. on Monday as she was about to exit the Warwick Shell Gas Station on her auxiliary cycle.

She said her path was blocked by an unknown male who said he was a Police officer. While her attention was focused on him, another man approached her bike from behind and snatched her bag before escaping.

Police are also investigating two reports of handbag snatchings over the weekend.

Visitors reported they were riding an auxiliary cycle past Harrington Hundreds in Smith's Parish around 11.30 a.m. on Sunday when they were approached from behind by an unknown male riding a motorcycle.

Another bag snatching incident resulted in injury when the victim fell from her cycle on Sunday night.

Police went to the junction of Camp Road and South Road in Warwick around 10.15 p.m. where the complainant said she was riding her auxiliary cycle west when two males on a cycle approached her from behind.

She said one man tried to grab her knapsack from the basket of her cycle but was unsuccessful because the bag was secured to the basket.

However the incident caused her to lose control of the cycle and fall to the ground. She was treated for cuts and abrasions to her legs and right wrist at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
