Mr. Kneisler was employed by the Bank of Bermuda for more than 22 years and most recently held the position of manager of management services, in charge of purchasing and office supplies, security, mail and maintenance.

As manager in control of the bank's support services, Mr. Kneisler had control of 87 staff.

He said the motivation for the career switch was a desire for "happiness'' and "a full life''.

His decision to make a fresh start was not influenced by the recent exodus of senior managers from the Bank of Bermuda, he said.

"I had been part of the organisation for so long, I had to look at the future and what I wanted,'' he said.

He described his new job as a "learning experience and a challenge. I have always had an interest in home maintenance and the company needed someone with management skills.

"We are selling a high quality paint. It is important that people realise that a good paint will provide a long-lasting finish. It is better to pay more initially and save money in the long term.

"We are looking forward to making inroads in the construction area with the contractors and becoming the number one point of sale for paint in the Island,'' he said.

Home Paint Supplies Company has five full-time and two part-time staff, excluding Mr. Kneisler.

A keen sportsman, Mr. Kneisler is currently president of Bermuda Athletic Association (BAA) and coaches young players. He is also chairman of the Bermuda Quality Awareness Team.
